The Push Brake is a mechanical lever designed to provide an easy-to-use hand control for braking without impacting the performance or reliability of the vehicle. This Push Brake is very commonly teamed with the Electronic Accelerators that we install.
It mounts easily on the steering column with the lever placed to the bottom right hand side of the steering wheel. The flat, horizontal design allows for the most effective fit. The ergonomic design of this mechanical braking system provides an intuitive method of braking in a simple and safe manner.
The Lever can also be fitted with a horn button and a brake lock, necessary not only for those tricky hill starts but also for the correct usage with an Automatic vehicle.
This is operated by pushing the lever forwards in the vehicle towards the dashboard. You can see this Push Brake in action being used alongside an Under Ring Accelerator within the demonstrative video at the bottom of this page.
Additional Features
Every installation for an Electronic Accelerator comes complete with a Motor Reduction Button which reduces the accelerator power by 50%. The operation of this can be integrated into the lever of this push down brake. This helps reduce any stress in built up traffic, or when parking. It can also help whilst the user is first learning to use the adaptation by acting as a 'Limiter'.
A Brake Safety Switch is featured in the installation of the Brake Lever, or retro-fitted to the original pedal. Upon activation of this switch the Electronic Accelerator is automatically deactivated allowing you to safely perform an emergency stop should the occasion arise. To regain acceleration simply release the brake and accelerator.

These Push Brake hand controls are designed to operate in an intuitive manner. Simply push the lever towards the front of the vehicle/dashboard to brake. You can watch our demonstrative video linked above to see this in action.

Almost all driving adaptations allow someone else to drive the car as usual. Depending on the adaptation, they can either be folded away, turned off, or partially removed using a quick release mechanism. In some cases, nothing needs to be done at all.
