SmartSelector – Electronic Gearing
SmartSelector – Electronic Gearing
The SmartSelector offers a solution for people who are having difficulty operating the standard electronic gear selectors on automatic vehicles. This adaptation modifies the selector lever so that it can be operated via an easily accessible keypad usually located to the left of the steering wheel. This keypad communicates with the vehicle electronically allowing for the original lever to be operated in the intended fashion. In this way, both drivers with disabilities, and those who are able-bodied, can operate the vehicle comfortably.
The SmartSelector’s keypad features similar symbols to those which often appear on automatic gearboxes. It has buttons for Drive (D), Reverse (R), Park (P), and Neutral (N). If the vehicle supports a manual shift function, the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons can be used in conjunction with this feature. The two buttons in the centre of the keypad with generic symbols can be assigned to functions of your choice.
The SmartSelector is available for vehicles with Electronic Gearing. It is advisable that you contact our office team to discuss suitability for your vehicle.
